Sit back, relax and … watch out! Companies and influencers around the world are selling us the dream of a healthy and stressless lifestyle, promising all sorts of cures from the ailments of contemporary life—including from coronavirus. Their claims, however, are rarely based on sound science.

Questionable scientific publications, overly generous interpretations of data, and flat out fantasy are employed in a marketing strategy with the intent to sell. As the intersection of wellness and far-right conspiracies shows, such disinformation can be dangerous. And it doesn’t come cheap.
