Day twenty-five

Anna [Berlin]

We make Ukrainian borscht for our new friends. We manage to make it a perfect red colour. The vegetables are fresh and flavourful, the beetroot rich. Today my German friends and I get a taste of home.

Our biggest obstacle has been embarrassment. We are always taught to cope on our own and I have gotten used to relying on myself. We try not to ask for too much.
